HEAVY METALS MATTERS- ARSENIC (As)

So what is Arsenic (As)? Arsenic is naturally present in our environment. Mainly, they occur in the Earth’s crust; in soil, water, plants, and animals. Hence almost anything within our food chain are not exclusive to this natural mineral. Organic Means Free from Arsenic? No. Organically-farmed does not mean completely no pesticides used. It may contain fewer pesticides. All plants and animals (free range inclusive) soak up Arsenic from the soil. Hence, it won’t likely have lower levels of Arsenic unless the soil it grew in was never exposed to Arsenic - not even 50 years ago. Perhaps, such farmlands may never be possible in this time and age. Hence, do consider this when we invest more, thinking it is better and worth every extra dollar. Why high level of Arsenic are found in some products in the market? It is important to note that Arsenic is soluble. For products that ingredients are being used as is; with almost no rinsing or cleaning prior to final production, high-level of heavy metal elements could be present. Hence, it is important for the raw materials to be tested for not just Arsenic, but heavy metals that are relevant, right from the source and beyond, especially when the products are intended for further rinsing or cooking e.g.: Spaghetti or Raw Grains and Plants.    Claiming the Obvious? Let’s Understand the Obvious First. Understanding the context of the subject-matter is of utmost importance. Scrambling to claim the obvious not only does not help, it may aggravate and cause undue confusion and deprivation for better options that may be available within our reach. Hence, for ingredients in any products (as simple and minimal as it possibly be) that have already been “processed”, “cooked” and “ready for consumption”, in full compliance with proper Food Manufacturing Standards and Quality Assurance Framework in place, the heavy metals properties from Raw to Processed, would likely result in an “ND” test outcome. i.e. Not-Detectable.     Our Assurance and Standards. Heavy Metals and Pesticides evaluated sources are the key to our successes and that is why we spent considerable time for all our Farm-to-Table options, as cited right from the beginning. Never wavered. Organic or not, we must understand the context in full and spent our dollar wisely. No, to earning a few more dimes just to go after Organically certified claims. Such commitments require deep research and proofs. This is no mean feat and it may not even be a possible feat for countries alone, least to say, a company. For certifying a farmland Organic differs from Governance to Governance. This is totally reasonable and comprehensible, as there is a need to remain relevant, to sustain agriculture viability and her marketability. However, it does not necessarily and always justify for a higher cost which are always translated to the end-consumers.     Yes, to conscientious effort to guard what matters in our food chain, so that we could all enjoy better food, better options, for our loved and little ones in their most precious formative years, without having to burn an unnecessary hole, in our hard-earned pockets. Heavy Metal Test Points or minimally 373 Pesticides Free Test Points are some of the evaluations that we subscribed and are far more crucial than just being Organic itself which always costs more, just being so.
